About me

Hi there – I’m Angela Vandersteen.

I’ve never been one for material things, but there are two objects I’m always happy to carry: my easel and my surfboard. Not the easiest pair to combine, I admit. This space is mostly dedicated to the first.

I’m endlessly curious, especially about the quiet beauty in the everyday. I’ve always had a soft spot for the imperfect – for things with cracks, scuffs, and frayed edges. Not just in objects, but in stories, people, and life itself. I believe there’s a kind of magic in the mess – and painting gives me a way to notice, honour, and share that.
